The extra acupuncture points are distributed all over the body on the head, torso, and limbs. These were introduced after the traditional acupuncture points were defined, thus labelled as 'Extra Points'. Extra points do not belong to any of the traditional acupuncture channels and mostly noted empirically for their unique functions. This section describes the location, energetic functions, and clinical indications of extra acupuncture points.
Please note, there are various references however we sourced primarily from the WHO reference. There are also new extra points which were found in other sources without any numbers, therefore we assigned a number to them.
