Beimian (T 44.07)

Location

The Master Tung Acupuncture point, T 44.07 Beimian, is overlaps with Jianyu (LI 15), which is in the center of the depression anterior and inferior to the acromion when the arm is raised. Some sources state Beimian (T 44.07) is 1 cun posterior to Jianyu (LI 15).

Indications
Primary: 
  • Abdominal bloating, distension and fullness, gas
  • Fatigue, weak voice, low voice
Secondary: 
  • Vomiting, acute enteritis, cholera
  • Difficulty with pronunciation, laryngitis, sore throat
  • Scrofula
  • Weakness of the legs
  • Frozen shoulder, supraspinatus tendonitis

Techniques
  • Needle 0.3 - 0.5 cun perpendicularly.
  • Fatigue, weakness of the legs, vomiting, acute enteritis, and cholera, bleed this point and 4 points (above, below, left, and right) around the point (5 points total).
  • Supraspinatus tendinitis, needle 2 - 3 cun towards Jiquan (HT 1).
  • Frozen shoulder, needle 2 - 3 cun towards the deltoid muscle.
