Location

The Master Tung Acupuncture point, T 11.28* Shuangling, is a two-point set on the palmar aspect of the middle finger, along the radial and ulnar margins of the PIP joint. Each point is 0.25 cun ulnar and radial to the center of the PIP joint (lines B and D).

Indications
Primary: 
  • Cancer: lung cancer, liver cancer, bone cancer, throat cancer, leukemia
  • Cardiovascular disorders: cardiomegaly, arrhythmia, endocarditis, angina
Secondary: 
  • Nephritis with edema
  • Oral ulcers, indigestion in children, gastritis, whopping cough, gan ji (infantile malnutrition)
  • Liver cirrhosis
  • Vitiligo

Techniques
  • Needle 0.1 - 0.2 cun.
  • Needle contralateral to the affected side. If the condition is in the center, needle the side that is more painful upon palpation.
  • This point can also be bled, especially in cases of pediatric disease. It is most effective when dark blood or yellowish liquid is squeezed out.
