This area includes bilateral lines flanking the du (governing) channel, 1 cun lateral to Naohu (GV 17) that span 1 cun above and below.

Imbalance due to cerebellum injury, occipital headache, ataxic gait, inability to walk in a straight line, tending to go off on one side

Techniques

Method 1: Needle bilaterally from the center of the lines for 1 cun pointing downwards, aligning the insertion points with Naohu (GV 17).

Method 2: Needle bilaterally from the top end of the lines for 1 cun pointing downwards, aligning the endpoints with Naohu (GV 17).

Note. Conventional practice utilizes Method 1. Dr. Tai found that Method 2 is equally effective in practice.
