Location

This point is on the ST channel, 3 cun anterior and 2 cun distal to the place touched by the middle fingertip when one is standing with the hands at the sides (at Fengshi (GB 31)). It is 2 cun inferior to Simazhong (T 88.17).

Primary: 

Respiratory disorders

  • Lung deficiency, chest pain, pleurisy, allergy, sinusitis, rhinitis, stuffy nose, pulmonary tuberculosis, asthma, pneumonia, common cold

Shaoyang disorders

  • Costochondritis, rib pain, intercostal pain, conjunctivitis, red eyes, protruding eyes in hyperthyroidism, tinnitus, ankle sprain, hemangioma, goiter

Skin disorders

  • Eczema, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, allergic dermatitis, acne, blackheads, freckles

Breast disorders

  • Fibrocystic breast, mastitis, breast pain

Pain

  • Back and sciatic pain due to LU channel deficiency (taiyin-taiyang relationship), wrist pain, upper back pain
Secondary: 
  • Hemiplegia, facial paralysis
