Zhongfu (LU 1)

Location

In the first intercostal space, 6 cun lateral to the anterior midline, 1 cun below Yunmen (LU 2).

Indications
  • Cough, asthma, wheezing
  • Pain in the chest, fullness in the chest
  • Shoulder pain, back pain
Applications
  • Disseminates and descends Lung qi
  • Transforms phlegm, clears heat, regulates the water passages
Balance Method: 
Techniques

Needle obliquely 0.5-0.8 cun towards the lateral aspect of the chest. To avoid injuring the lung, do not needle deeply towards the medial aspect.
