The Master Tung Acupuncture point, T 33.11 Ganmen, is on the SI channel, 6 cun proximal to the wrist crease.

Indications
Primary: 

All hepatic disorders:

  • Acute hepatitis, gallbladder disorders, insufficient bile secretion, hypochondriac pain

Inner thigh pain

Secondary: 

Acute or chronic enteritis, chest stuffiness or pain

Contraindications:

Techniques
  • Needle perpendicularly 0.3 - 0.5 cun. Needling this point will immediately relieve the bitter taste in the mouth and pain in the hepatic/hypochondriac area. Turning the needle to the right will relieve chest pain associated with hepatitis, while turning needle to the left will relieve intestinal/abdominal pain.
  • Needle the left side when treating acute hepatitis.
