Zhengjin (T 77.01)

Location

This point is on the BL channel, 3.5 cun proximal to the bottom of the heel on the Achilles tendon. It is midway between Kunlun (BL 60) and Taixi (KI 3) on the midline of the posterior aspect of the lower leg.

Indications
Primary: 
  • Neck pain, neck sprain, neck stiffness, back pain, back sprain, back stiffness, spine pain, bone spur on the spine, sciatica
  • Cranial enlargement, hydrocephalus, concussion, brain tumor, tinnitus, occipital headache

Techniques
  • Needle 0.5 - 0.8 cun.
  • Use a thicker gauge needle and pierce through the tendon to touch the bone for optimal effect. For stronger patients, needle in a sitting position. For weak patients, needle in a prone or sideway position.
