Ah shi points around Quchi (LI 11), Chize (LU 5) and Shaohai (HT 3). Needle the side that is more tender upon palpation. If the pain is deep on the knee, needle the elbow for up to 1.5 to 2 cun if necessary.

BodyMapping Acup — Cole Magbanua

Needle the opposite side of the pain. If the pain is bilateral, needle bilaterally.
Lateral and front of the knee pain, patella pain: Quchi (LI 11) and ashi points all around there.
