Knee & Ankle (CR)
- Needle the opposite side of the pain. If the pain is bilateral, needle bilaterally.
- Lateral and front of the knee pain, patella pain: Quchi (LI 11) and ashi points all around there.
- Medial knee pain : Shaohai (HT 3), Quze (PC 3) Chize (LU 5), Shousanli (LI 10) thread to Quze (PC 3).
- Back of the knee pain : Xiaohai (SI 8), Xinmen (T 33.12)
- Lateral ankle pain : Needle ashi points from Yangchi (TH 4) to Waiguan (TH 5)
- Medial ankle pain : Needle ashi points from Lieque (LU 7) to Taiyuan (LU 9), Daling (PC 7)
- Front of the ankle pain : Needle ashi points from Yangxi (LI 5) to Pianli (LI 6)
- Achilles pain : Needle ashi points from Wangu (SI 4) to Yanglao (SI 6) on the tendon
- Foot and toe pain : Needle opposite side hand and finger images. For example, left lateral toe pain on the metatarsal phalangeal joint, needle right lateral metacarpal phalgeal join on the thumb.
- Bunions: Needle opposite side big toe across medial joints
- Knee Pain: Bilateral - needle all ah shi points on the yin channels on both elbows. If there are no ah shi points, place two needles on each yin channels on both elbows. Needle should touch tendon or bone.
- Ankle Pain: Bilateral - needle all ah shi points on the yin channels on both wrists. If there are no ah shi points, place two needles on each yin channels on both wrists. Needle should touch tendon or bone.
- Knee:
- Ankle: Wuhu (T 11.27) [3-4-5], Guguan (T 22.24)*, Muguan (T 22.26)*, Xiaojie (T 22.13)*
- Heel: Guguan (T 22.24)*, Muguan (T 22.26)*, Zhenghui (T 1010.01), Wuhu (T 11.27) [4-5]
- Needle contralateral to the pain. If the pain is in the center, needle bilaterally or the side with the more ah shi points. If the pain is bilateral, needle bilaterally.
- General knee pain: Xiyan, Jianzhong (T 44.06), Xinxi (T 11.09). Bleed around Gaohuangshu (BL 43) with cupping. Bleed before needling for best result.
- Lateral knee pain: Xinxi (T 11.09), Jianzhong (T 44.06)
- Knee (coldness): Tongguan (T 88.01), Tongtian (T 88.03), Xiyan (Ex-LE5). Use plum-blossom needle to bleed on and around the knee. Bleed before needling for best result.
- Knee (ligament pain): Shenjian (T 44.19), Jianfeng (T 44.31)*, Shangqu (T 44.16), Jianzhong (T 44.06), Yunbai (T 44.11), Renzong (T 44.08), Quchi (LI 11), Xinling (T 33.17)*
- Chondromalacia patella: Jianfeng (T 44.31)*, Jianzhong (T 44.06), Huofuhai (T 33.07), Tianhuang (T 77.17), Dihuang (T 77.19), Renhuang (T 77.21)
