Fengchi (GB 20)

Location

In the depression between the upper portion of the sternocleidomastoideus and the trapezius muscles, on the same level as Fengfu (GV 16), and 2.25 cun lateral to the midline.

Techniques

Oblique insertion 0.5-0.8 cun towards the tip of the nose with the tip of the needle slightly downwards, or subcutaneous insertion through Fengfu (GV 16).

Avoid needling too deeply as it may damage the spinal cord.
